Twenty years since the release of the very first film of the series THE MATRIX, we see the release of THE MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS. The story follows the life of Neo, also known as Thomas Anderson forward, the film opens in the form of Keanu Reeves' protagonist, who lives the normal day life in the form of Thomas Anderson. But, he's suffering from nightmares and images of a different life. The therapist prescribed him certain blue pills that can help to ease the burden. However, things get to an end when he's given the red pill. Do the visions he is experiencing glimpses of an alternate reality? Or are they just fantasies or wishes that are not fulfilled? Do you think the Mr. Anderson understand what they are? Will he venture into the rabbit hole to be able to better understand what the MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS is about? In the event of Lana Wachowski returning to helm the project, big things are to be expected. But can the new movie meet the standards left by the previous three films or an attempt to make money that ultimately destroys the brand is what we will be analyzing.
The film starts beginning with. Anderson having an encounter with Morpheus (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who offers the actor a pill red in order to make his mind clear. Then, he's immersed head-first into the Matrix and then returned to his lost self Neo. But, there's nothing that is new to look forward to. Since the film follows an account that follows Neo the character and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) forward, it's basically romance set against an ever-changing world, with an abundance of action. Unfortunately, THE MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS is far of the film from 1999. With segments of the previous three sections, along with brand new footage it doesn't provide a pleasant viewing experience. In reality, the lengthy action and drama scenes are difficult for viewers to remain at a table. Contrary to the first film don't expect stand-out scenes that create lasting impressions. In addition the love among Neo and Trinity appears to be lost, and even although both actors Reeves and Moss attempt to revive the chemistry, it's an unfinished business. However the potential of the film to tell its own story in a somewhat humorous manner is something to keep an eye on.
