Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence) is a graduate student in astronomy with her Professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) are amazed by the finding of a comet that is orbiting inside the solar system. The problem is that it's in the same collision course as Earth. Another problem? Nobody seems to be concerned. With the assistance from the Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a tour of the media that involves them going from the offices of an uninterested president Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her exasperated Chief of Staff and son, Jason (Jonah Hill) as well as the radio broadcasts that are The Daily Rip, an energetic morning show with Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months left before the comet's arrival managing the 24-hour news cycle and capturing the attention of the media-savvy population until it's already too late, is astonishingly funny.
