The Lost Daughter: The Lost Daughter Full Movie Review:
Leda Caruso (Olivia Colman), a distressed Leda Caruso, is shown in The Lost Daughter. Her first scene is of her going on vacation to Greece and living in an apartment at the beach. Leda, a professor and comparative literature scholar, is constantly on the beach with a large family. Leda attempts to ignore them but is constantly reminded of her 20-year-old self by Nina, a young mother (Dakota Johnson). Nina's little girl goes missing and it is Leda that finds her. Leda is having flashbacks to a similar incident with her daughter Bianca, which happened a while back. Jessie Buckley plays the younger Leda. She struggles to find time for herself while simultaneously managing her daughters Bianca, Martha, and Bianca. Nina and Leda form an uncanny relationship, with Nina becoming suspicious of Leda's behavior. Will (Paul Mescal), Lyle (Ed Harris), caretakers who live at the beach, are two other people who attempt to befriend Leda. They are friendly and she flirts with them. However, she is cautious. Is Leda trying to hide something? Watch the movie to find out. Flashbacks of Leda are a part of the film. They help the viewer to understand her story as a mother, what it means to her, her struggle to be independent and achieve her academic and professional goals and her struggles to find love, friendship, and support. The film explores the perceptions of loners in society. Leda is a loner after all her adventures in life. She is content with herself, but she misses her children, and suffers from the'mother's guilt'. Most fathers and mothers will find some parts of this relatable. Although raising children is a difficult job, it can also have a psychological impact on parents. Even if you're not a parent, The Lost Daughter will teach you to respect your parents.
