Mafia: Mafia Full Movie Review:
Mafia starts with an unplanned shoot-out that occurs in a luxurious hotel on the night of a Saturday. Then, we're returned to Wednesday when the small operation to combat narcotics takes place under the direction of Aryan (Arun Vijay) and two drug addicts are arrested. The sudden demise of Aryan's superior officers and the activist Mugilan (Thalaivasal Vijay) who were the brains involved in a major drug cartel, triggers an investigation. When Aryan discovers that it's the businessman Diwakar (Prasanna) that runs the mafia of drugs A fascinating game of cat and mouse starts. The fight between the both the protagonist and the antagonist is made easier by combat scenes, gun fights along with brain game. When Aryan fights the formidable Diwakar, it seems that finding the latter is almost impossible. However, when Aryan is close to achieving his goal He realizes that Diwakar is one of the numerous snakes that have venom in the cave.
Karthick Naren provides the backdrop for the narcotics in the tale from start to go. There's a certain smoothness to the narration and events, even though they move at the slow pace. Arun Vijay excels in the part of a clever and savvy narcotics officer because of his impressive body speech along with Priya Bhavani Shankar as his assistant, is a perfect fit for the description. Prasanna in the role of the menacing villain who runs the notorious drug empire, flaunts the necessary swag in all the roles he is in. Barath Reddy and other artistes are also apt to their roles, but additional details on them would have enhanced the film. Jakes Bijoy's music as well as Gokul Benoy's narration to keep the mood going throughout.
Like the title implies, this is the opening chapter of Mafia. The manner in which the film concludes leaves us waiting for the next chapter thanks to the fantastic twist in the final scene that is why the final part is very exciting. The first half does not offer many surprises and takes time to flesh out the characters and build up. The narration and presentation, sometimes can remind you of the web-based series, because certain elements of cinema seem to be absent. The quantity of slow-motion shots and spoon-feeding in certain scenes could be eliminated. Mafia will appeal to lovers of action films, particularly those with a chic drug-related backgrounds. After all that I'm looking forward to Mafia Chapter 2.
