"Dolly Kitty"Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare"calls out the hypocrisy of seemingly happy marriages at the beginning of the film, in the scene where Kajal (Bhumi Pednekar) confides to her cousin Dolly (Konkona Sen Sharma) that her husband Amit (Aamir Bashir) is allegedly hitting on her. When Dolly insists that Kajal might have misinterpreted his amiable, protective behavior and spells it out for her sister, "Amit ji humse sex karna chahte hain." However, there's more in her head than to be enraged by this particular piece of information, for instance, preparing in order to relocate into a luxurious new building, where her and her husband's brand new apartment is in the process of being built. In the course of Dolly as well as Kajal's journeys lead their through different situations They begin to criticize each other's lifestyle decisions, but then they realize that they're not much different. In the end, as women they're looking for the same things, and are seeking an equal amount of liberty. On the other hand, the narrative of the film is packed with too many perspectives and sub-texts and sometimes leave some threads undeveloped. Some of the changes in the narrative are too abrupt. The acting is top-quality overall. Konkona Sen Sharma's performance as Mrs.Yadav as well as Dolly is outstanding as she traverses an entire storyline in the film, focusing on the relationship she has with her husband son Pappu, and her mother. Bhumi Pednekar is also an impressive performance. Amol Parasher is a standout as the charming delivery boy Osmaan. Vikrant Massey's character as Kajal's lover, Pradeep, is superb as is Aamir Bashir, who plays Dolly's angry spouse, Amit.
