Angrezi Medium: Angrezi Medium Full Movie Review:
The family was born and brought up within Udaipur (Rajasthan) Champak's life revolves around his constant fights with his Ghasitaram twin brother Gopi (Deepak Dobriyal) and taking care of his sole daughter, Tarika who is all set to finish high school and begin an academic journey of her own. However unlike her father Tarika isn't averse to limiting her ambitions to the area she grew up in. Instead she's keen to discover what's beyond her tiny world. Unaware of the possibilities, Champak gives in to his daughter's desires and things begin to get out of hand when it comes to paying the huge cost. A committed parent, Champak vows to do whatever it takes to get his daughter abroad to study and takes an avenue that not only shows his love and devotion to his "betiya", however, it also redefines the relationship between them.
Homi Adajania's "Angrezi Media" is a look at the younger generation's desire to continuing their studies in other nations, as well as their families' determination to overcome every Himalayan mountain for their loved family members. There are other themes at play as well, but it's the central theme that the movie is focusing on.
It is well-known that, in actual fact, Irrfan shot this movie during a treatment. However, when you watch this film, it is possible to ignore that fact. What you see on the screen is an actor at his best throughout every scene. He simply takes you along... and you are with him as you laugh and cry with him. And whenever he conquers the obstacles, you cheer with him. Irrfan gives life to Champak in a way no other actor can. He is also walking shoulder to shoulder with him is another outstanding actor Deepak Dobriyal. The camaraderie he shares with Irrfan is a testimony to the fact that both are skilled, well-trained actors. Radhika Madan, in her role as the rebellious, mildly impulsive and frequently confused teenager, gives an impressive performance, especially when her beautiful and touching love affair with her father develops. Their bond is natural and the way they portray their characters are real enough that their struggles and internal conflicts begin to resonate. Kiku Sharda, playing the child friend between the brothers is his usual zany self. Ranvir Shorey, playing Balakrishna "Bobby" Tripathy who is living the ideal NRI dream, is an important catalyst to move the story forward. His portrayal of Bobby is an exciting twist to the plot , and Shorey plays perfectly his character. Kareena Kapoor Khan shines in her short appearance as the tough police officer Naina and is a major contributor to the chaos that occurs in the second part in the movie. But, their relationship with mother Mrs. Kohli (played by Dimple Kapadia) is not explored enough. It would be interesting to see how their relationship develop in the film.
The style and look of this comedy-drama are everything sweet and small-town. The actors always have a strong local accent (Radhika's sounding a bit forced, however) and a lot of focus has been given to what we refer to as small-town 'characteristic' that is portrayed in multiple scenes and scenes as the story unfolds. The story is split between the country and one in London The music as well as the background music were crafted with the two scenarios in mind. It plays perfectly and distinguishes the mood.
