Kappella Movie (2020) | Full Hd Movie | Mp4moviezbox
One of the opening scenes in Kappela (chapel) shows an elderly man sitting next to a mailbox. He had written a love note to an old flame days before and was waiting for her reply. "Why don’t you just get a phone?" This is the postman asks, hinting at a man stuck in time.
The conversation below is about modernity, but from a different perspective. After a successful shopping trip, Jessie (Anna Ben), and her friend Lakshmi ("an excellent Nilja baby") return to their village in a jeep. Lakshmi's worn-out slippers are a reminder of their long commute, but she smiles quickly when she sees the sign for a new textile shop. Jessie joins Lakshmi in her excitement, hoping this would soon lead them to opening a movie theatre and a beauty parlour.
Kappela considers a mobile phone to be a living, breathing creature. It's crucial to know that Jessie has an old phone and that Lakshmi doesn’t have one. The film's main "meet-cute", or central theme, revolves around dialling a wrong number. Jessie dials the wrong number one time, and Vishnu (Roshan Matthewew), calls her back. She starts to worry and insists that he stop. The scene where she changes her perception of him is so well written that the audience cannot stop falling in love with his charm. You'll be just as infatuated by Roshan Mathew's character when Sushin Shyam plays beautiful tunes.
Jessie sees an outsider like him as a golden ticket for freedom. Nearly every photo of her in her village has an image of Jesus behind it. He promises her a life in a large 'town', just like she imagined. One that is near the sea. His appearance is not important, nor is his income and wealth. Even time is getting shorter as the proposal from the local rich guy becomes more serious. We are really rooting for her when she boards a bus to reach Vishnu.
