Jaanu: Jaanu Full Movie Review:
C Prem Kumar goes back to the famous tale of the year 96via it's Telugu remake Jaanu. The fans from the Tamil original wanted to know if the magic could be recreated for another time. Movie enthusiasts wondered about whether Sharwanand and Samantha are able to reprise the iconic characters that were etched into the minds of people with the help of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. The truth is Yes and No, Jaanuis not a match for the legendary 96and but, the film has its own method of sneaking into your mind in the midst of your least expected moments and sneaking its way to your hearts.
K Ramachandra aka Ram (Sharwanand) is a photographer who travels as well as a solo ranger. He is an individualist who has built layers of walls over time and created his own personal bubble to call home. When he travels to his home town of Visakhapatnam the walls begin to fall slowly as he reminisces about the fond memories of his youth. The school reunion is a thing to be thankful to be held in Hyderabad and although he's excited to see his old friends (Saranya Pradeep Tagubothu Ramesh, Vennela Kishore) but he's there to support his childhood sweetheart S Janaki Devi alias Jaanu (Samantha). And when they do meet, with the possibility to spend an hour or two together with the intention of healing some of the wounds that remain, the outcome is hard to explain, but truly magical.
Jaanuis like a massive suitcase full of memories Ram treasures. The journey begins with a an image of class and is finished exactly where it began but leaving two people with closure they may not want but are in need of. The relationship that develops between Ram Jaanu and Jaanu is subtle yet clearly defined in the most romantic of ways. Tenth grader Ram (Sai Kiran Kumar) suddenly becomes incapable of speaking in Jaanu's (Gouri G Kishan) presence, a situation that will persist for many the next few years. Jaanu sings with a passion (like her nameake) and is not afraid of pushing Ram to achieve what she desires. Just like their love story, the reason why they parted their ways a long time ago is very straightforward.
C Prem Kumar doesn't provide a story that will leave you speechless because of how bizarre the ordinary it is. He's a lot smarter than that, and is able to tell the reader a story you can connect with in the most beautiful way. He demonstrates a possibility time when the crucial questions that we all face in our lives are addressed. He reveals a dream anyone could imagine. Sharwanand and Samantha give amazing performances, as are Sai Kiran and Gouri. The young duo doesn't just compete with the more experienced actors, but they also perform with them, making for something to be seen. Sharwanand and Samantha however are living and breathing Ram and Jaanu and redefine them for people that have watched the show for 96 episodes.. The ensemble pulls off their scenes with conviction that is difficult to find.
