GODZILLA Vs. KONG tells the tale of the epic clash of two titans. It's a normal day at Apex Cybernetics' Pensacola, Florida facility. Godzilla suddenly attacks the company facility and causes extensive destruction without provocation. Godzilla has been viewed as the hero of humanity until now. But this episode makes Godzilla the villain of all. Monarch has kept Kong in Skull Island in a large enclosure. As an anthropological language specialist, Dr Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall), works in the facility. She has tried her best to communicate and understand Kong's behaviour patterns. Surprised to discover that Kong's adopted mute daughter Jia (Kaylee Hopttle), is able to form a relationship with Kong and communicate with her, she is pleasantly surprised. Apex's chiefs Ren Serizawa (Shun Oguri), and Walter Simmons (Demian Bichir) hire Dr. Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgard). Based on his research and a book about the titans, Walter and Ren plan to lure Godzilla to Hollow Earth via an opening in Antarctica, and then destroy him there. Godzilla and Kong are rivals. They feel that if Godzilla is captured at Hollow Earth, Godzilla will follow them and fulfill their purpose. Monarch quickly gives the green light to send Kong to Antarctica. Kong is tied and loaded into a large ship. Kong is accompanied by Jia, Dr Nathan, and Dr Ilene. A top Apex executive Maia Simmons (Eiza Gonzalo) also joins Kong aboard the ship. Dr Ilene tells them to detour so they don't have to go through Godzilla's usual route. Godzilla detects Kong and attacks him. Kong saves himself, but he is severely injured. Jia helps him to get better. In Florida, Bernie Hayes (Brian Tye Henry), an Apex employee, is hosting a podcast in which he tells his listeners that things are not going well at the company. Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), daughter of Monarch scientists Mark Chandler and Emma Russell, is his fan. She is able to track down Bernie. Bernie tells her about a mysterious shipment that is being sent to the Apex Complex in Hong Kong. They invade the nearly-destroyed Apex facility near Pensacola, Florida to find out more. Madison is joined by Josh Valentine (Julian Dennison), Madison's geeky friend. The rest of the film is about what happens next.
